() Acclaimed singer/songwriter David Nail returns with his compelling new single "The Crown." Deeply reflective, emotionally honest, and unafraid to sit in life's quiet truths, the song finds Nail at his most vulnerable and self-assured.

"The Crown," is inspired by a true small-town story from his hometown of Kennett, Missouri, was written with Anderson East and launched a two-plus-year creative journey between the two artists. Leaning into his roots, the track finds Nail in a more personal singer-songwriter space, raw, unfiltered, and grounded in storytelling that prioritizes feeling over flash and substance over expectation.

Lisa we still see the queen
Just like you were seventeen
Standing there in your homecoming gown
Even though you lost your way
Heaven knows the price you paid
You'll always have a home in this ole town
I know some will try and tear you down
But I still see the crown

"There's so much I could say about this song. It was the first song that Anderson and I wrote, and so it was the very beginnings of what became an entire project," said Nail, adding, "I didn't really have anything walking into the write that day. Nothing but a story about a conversation I'd had recently with a former high school classmate about another former classmate and friend of ours. A few hours later, 'The Crown' was born! I've never avoided personal subjects or stories about my life, but this was a different experience, and one I struggled with. Sad and true stories are never fun to write, so I really wanted this to have an endearing and hopeful aspect to it. I think we achieved that as honestly as possible!"

In support of the new music, Nail is currently on his intimate "Down To The Studs Tour." Presenting these songs, along with his hits, in their purest form is central to his creative vision in 2026. The solo acoustic tour has him visiting small-capacity venues across the country, offering audiences a stripped-down experience, just a guitar, the stories behind the songs, and Nail's unmistakable voice.
