Benny G Announces 'When You Know You Know' EP
(Sony Music Nashville) Rising country-soul wunderkind Benny G has announced his upcoming EP, When You Know You Know, will release April 17. A new, solo-written track from the project, "She Was Just a Stranger," is available now.
"The theme of When You Know You Know is learning about yourself when it comes to love and relationships. The lyrics are driven by mistakes, anxiety, personal vulnerability, foreshadowing, growing, and even love aspiration," Benny shared."From the first track, the chronological sequence ranges from the nerves of even noticing someone to the first date, good vibes at the beginning of a relationship, love, gut feelings of things not working out, personal reflection, breakup, and lessons learned for the future."
Primarily produced by Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Brandi Carlile, Sam Barber), nearly every song was recorded live in single takes, reflecting the raw musicality that drives Benny's instinctive, no-frills artistry. The six-song capsule includes previous releases "An Hour or So" and "I Got a Feeling," which have received praise from Country Central, Holler, All Country News, and more. Additionally, these two tracks were produced by Todd Clark and Benny G.
Currently on the road with Sons of Legion and soon to join Penelope Road as support, it was recently announced that Benny will open for Ty Myers on all dates of his upcoming THE LEGAL TOUR, hitting venues including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Rooftop at Pier 17, The Wharf Amphitheater, and more from June to November. He is also set for his first appearance at CMA Fest.
Benny recently made his C2C debut, performing at the European festival in Berlin and London. Multiple outlets touted him as a breakout star from the event, with Entertainment Focus praising, "Benny G left a lasting impression on the C2C crowd. For many in the audience, it felt like the discovery of a truly exciting new voice and one of the best singers of the whole weekend." He extended his stay overseas as an opener on Jack Wharff Band's EU run.
