(QHMG) Annie Bosko today released "God Winks (moments)," an inspiring pop version of a fan-favorite track from Bosko's acclaimed debut album, California Cowgirl.

Whereas the original country version of "God Winks," produced by Trent Willmon, showcases the song's moving, downhome storytelling, the new pop version, co-produced by David "Messy" Mescon and Bosko herself, leans more into the song's potential as a soaring power ballad.

"God Winks" was born out of a season of reflection for Bosko. After traveling home to California to recover from vocal cord surgery just as the pandemic began, she found herself questioning her next steps. She decided she would return to Nashville only when she booked a gig, which led to a chance encounter with Amy Grant and Vince Gill.

"Amy and Vince were both 'God Winks' in my life-divine reminders to keep going at a time when I felt lost," Bosko says. In a full-circle moment, the rising star recently released a powerful duet version of "God Winks" with Amy Grant, the woman who'd helped inspire the song.

Bosko co-wrote "God Winks" alongside Rachel Thibodeau, Jet Harvey and Michael Wilkes. The track serves as a tender reminder that even during our darkest or most uncertain moments, we're never truly alone:

God winks, right outta nowhere
Just to let you know He's still there
When it's looking like nobody cares
God winks, In funny times and places
When all the dreams you wish feel wasted
When you think your ship's about to sink, God winks

"I love that 'God Winks' is taking on this cool life of its own," says Bosko, "whether it's incredible musicians wanting to record new versions with me, or fans telling me how the song has helped them find more hope in their lives. We all need reminding that no matter what you're going through, God's got your back."

As well as the original version of "God Winks," Bosko's California Cowgirl album features collaborations with country heavyweights Joe Nichols, Darius Rucker and Dwight Yoakam. Billboard has praised how the record "interlocks toughness, confidence, heartbreak and ambition," noting Bosko's musical lineage to "'90s and 2000s female country icons such as Shania Twain and Martina McBride." Country Evolution has named Bosko among its "Country Artists to Watch in 2026."
