Emily Ann Roberts Shares New Single 'Laundry'
(Sony Music Nashville) Breakthrough singer and songwriter Emily Ann Roberts continues to grow her deep well of story-driven country gems with her latest release, "Laundry."
"'You've been doing her right and doing me dirty - while I've been doing laundry' is probably one of the most incredible lines I've ever been a part of writing," shared Roberts. "I was writing with Jessi Alexander, Wyatt McCubbin, and Ben Williams and Jessi told us the idea for this song came to her in a dream. She told the story of an unfaithful husband who was off chasing his career, while his wife was home trying to keep the house, kids, and family together. Songs like this one make me more excited than ever to sing country music. It's raw, real, and heartbreaking, but so is much of the life we live. I'm honored Jessi shared this idea with me, and I can't wait for the world to hear 'Laundry' too."
The lamenting track, accented by a wailing fiddle, showcases the versatility and emotional depth that has become a signature for the rising star. Honoring age-old country traditions, her simultaneously mournful and scornful vocal delivery demonstrates why she is fast becoming one of the most in-demand artists in the genre.
Roberts most recently released a reimagined, duet version of her fan favorite song "Jack & Jill Daniel's" with Ian Munsick, which MusicRow called "A surefire playlist bopper." The ACM nominee is currently on tour with Thomas Rhett between her own headlining dates, which have been selling out across the country, and will return to Europe this winter supporting Cody Johnson.
