Hear Dylan Marlowe's New Song 'Rock The Jukebox'
() Dylan Marlowe is giving fans a sneak peak of his upcoming sophomore album, releasing track "Rock The Jukebox" today. The song will appear on Marlowe's upcoming sophomore album, Dylan Marlowe, arriving on Nov. 6.
Written by Marlowe, David Garcia, and Hunter Phelps, the clever track illustrates the feeling of a fresh breakup and the immediate instinct to avoid anything that elicits thoughts of an ex, including the music that stirs up too many memories. While wrapped in heavy guitars and pop punk-inspired production, Marlowe felt inspired by classic country music when sitting down with his co-writers.
Marlowe shared his vision for the track, stating, "I was listening to Alan Jackson's 'Don't Rock The Jukebox' and sometimes my brain hears things and goes 'what if it was different?' And that song is perfect already, so this song isn't an interpolation, but it got my wheels turning. I had this image in my head of this guy going into a bar and wanting to listen to rock music instead of country music after getting his heart broken. It was fun to write - we put a lot of country music in the first chorus, and it just slams in the back half of the song. Can't wait for y'all to hear it."
Featuring 13 tracks, Marlowe co-produced the project alongside Joe Fox. With influences ranging from Sum 41 to Blink 182 to Eric Church, Marlowe looks to establish his own lane in the genre, blending the pop punk and country music genres.
