(117) Country music icon Randy Travis continues to build excitement with another sure-to-be-treasured release, "I Know Where I'd Be Without You." The track comes from his never-before-heard album Same Old Way, set for release on November 13. Travis also announced the album will be available on vinyl, with first copies shipping in December, but it's available to pre-order today!
The singer reflects on how he once thought he didn't need anybody, until love showed up and changed everything. Now he knows how much he depends on that person for happiness and support, and he admits pride can keep people from appreciating the blessings right in front of them. It's a song of gratitude and love, and of knowing life would be much harder without love.
I'd be back on the bottom with no hill to climb
If not for your love, I'd be out of my mind
I can't see the future but given that view
I know where I'd be without you
Randy and his longtime label home, Warner Records Nashville, have already released four singles from Same Old Way, "Fish On," "I Don't Care," "Set The Blues Back," and the title track, which have received praise and anticipation from outlets like Entertainment Tonight, Parade, Billboard, Whiskey Riff, Country Central, Holler, All Country News, and many more.
"The songs waited in a vault in Los Angeles, some for as long as 40 years. But now, thanks to a curious music producer and a star who lost his voice but never his vision, those songs have emerged from the ranks of the unheard." - The Tennessean
"This track cleverly references so many great artists and offers a strong vocal performance from Travis... it perfectly embodies the carefree, fun feeling that so many great classic country songs did." - Country Central on "Set The Blues Back"
"Same Old Way' is a smooth, whiskey-tinted, steel-soaked number full of heartbreak. Travis' inimitable vocals have been recaptured perfectly as they lilt over bluesy guitars and a southern sway." - Holler
"Country music has long been known for songs of love and loss, but I don't know that anyone but Randy Travis has ever dealt with it in such an honest and direct way. Just look at the heartbeat of the song." - Forbes on "I Don't Care"
"The infectious melody, coupled with an excellent recapturing of Travis' iconic vocals, makes the track an undeniably fun outing from the living legend." - Whiskey Riff on "Fish On"
