(Atlantic) Ty Dolla $ign teams up with 3X GRAMMY Award-winning R&B sensation and EZMNY Records signee, Leon Thomas for "miss u 2" out now via Atlantic Records. Produced by Keyz, "miss u 2 (with leon thomas)" is the first song from the Los Angeles native's forthcoming new project girl music vol. 1 out everywhere March 6, two days before International Women's Day.
girl music vol. 1 is a 6-song project which sees Ty's organic return to the more musical, R&B roots that his fans have been known to love from him. With an emphasis on simplicity and musicality, girl music vol. 1 was inspired by a real conversation during a dinner in NYC and was created with girls in mind, aiming to bring back the type of music that girls want to hear for every occasion; while getting ready, while at the club or even while at home thinking about their latest crush.
"'girl music' started as a conversation at dinner in NYC. The DJ at the restaurant was playing all the right music and it got us thinking about the music that girls really want to hear. Everything about this project has been organic and natural. From the name of the project to the song selection and sequence to the collaborators. It all just fell into place. This project was a natural return back to my musical sound, back to performing with a live band; my real R&B vibes. This is really some of my favorite music I've made in a long time. And this is only volume one...."
