(Press Here) Experimental Rural Canadian Techno supergroup CVCHE have released their debut album Get Fluffy. Redefining a genre of electronic music that no one asked to be redefined, Get Fluffy is a compilation of all CVCHE's unapologetically weird and hypnotic cuts dropped over the past year, recorded as a snapshot of where the band began as well as a stake in the ground for where they're heading next.
"We made this album with no intention of making an album or sticking to any style," shares CVCHE on the new album. "We just know each other well and wanted to make music together, and with a pile of vintage synths in the woods... Isolation helps. No one cares about what you're doing except the trees, the synths, and maybe the wine. Everything slows down. You stop worrying about 'making a track' and just follow whatever texture or mood shows up. The place pushed the music where it wanted to go."
The album features new single "CVCHE or the Highway," a tongue-in-cheek closer that leans fully into the project's playful menace. "It's the last piece of the puzzle and the only track fans haven't heard yet," share CVCHE. "'CVCHE or the Highway' is the moment that kind of sums up what the album is doing. The energy we had on that day, the weirdness, the humor... It's not a hard ultimatum. It's more like, 'this is where we're going. If you're down, put your socks on and let's go.'"
Recording the collection over the course of a year while moonlighting in some of the biggest rock bands in the world, Get Fluffy channels the powerhouse talents of Jimmy Shaw (Metric, Broken Social Scene), Liam O'Neil (Kings of Leon), Dave Hodge (Broken Social Scene, Leisure Cruise), and conceptual artist Jon Morris (Windmill Factory, NOWHERE.io), into a 10-track project that CVCHE have been unveiling piece by piece. Featuring recently released single "18 Days Later," which was written during a mysterious 18-day disappearance and self-imposed blackout, Get Fluffy also includes fan favorite "The Star," a mesmerizing galaxy that beamed down to earth during a late-night jam session with Chris Seligman of acclaimed Canadian indie-rock band Stars, as well as recent singles "Welcome To CVCHE," "Eyes of Darkness - A Novel by Dean Koontz," "Thumper," "Private Volcano," and more.
