The Reds, Pinks & Purples Share 'Every Shade Of Blue' And Announce New Album
(BHM) Following the release of Acknowledge Kindness, The Reds, Pinks & Purples announce a companion record, True Love Daydream, arriving on Friday, September 25. And are previewing the released with the single "Every Shade Of Blue"
The album will be available in digital and limited cassette formats only. Donaldson and the band will be performing in Brooklyn, NY at Baby's All Right on October 2 as part of a short US run.
Ever prolific, most of the music on True Love Daydream was created by Glenn Donaldson at the same time as Acknowledge Kindness. Donaldson eloquently describes the EP as "a little boat set adrift off the shore of the main album."
Here, separated from the album, the music has space to ebb and flow, lingering in shimmering ambiance. Three of the songs on the EP are atmospheric instrumentals, a slight departure from Donaldson's classic songwriting, yet retaining the emotional depth that makes the music so captivating.
"Every Shade Of Blue" is out now. Glenn comments: "This is an older song, and the first song I made that I thought could be a signpost towards the future sound of Acknowledge Kindness. I wanted to bring out more of a folk feeling without sounding traditional at all. Steven R. Smith, a good friend from high school and a maker of dark solo instrumental music, added some atmospheres on this, as well as contributing to quite a few other tracks in the last year or so. I am always editing my work as I go, but this is one of the few songs where I feel like the words are truly finished."
