Kitt Wakeley Announces Six String Symphony: A Six String Odyssey
(Jensen) Kitt Wakeley, known for his Grammy-winning recordings skillfully combining orchestral composition and performance with rock elements, is excited to announce the release of SIX STRING SYMPHONY: A SIX STRING ODYSSEY, which began streaming on August 27, 2026, with CDs out now from Studio Seven Media.
The Odyssey features four of the world's top, award-winning classical guitarists this time, along with cello and piano. The six players join the London Symphony Orchestra and the Sterling Ensemble Choir, presenting a variety of song-length compositions destined to grab the ear and heart.
Recorded at famed Abbey Road Studio One, the LSO is joined by renowned multi-Grammy-nominated classical guitarists RUSS HEWITT and Slovenian-born MAK GRGIĆ, Mexican-born Latin Grammy-nominated guitarist GIOVANNI PIACENTINI and GRETCHEN MENN, dubbed "Most Sensational Female Guitarist" by Guitar Magazine. The sextet also includes brilliant pianist VIVIAN FANG LU and cellist TESS REMY-SCHUMACHER, who appeared on Kitt's Grammy-winning 2022 release, An Adoption Story.
The eight-song collection features a combination of classics, songs from previous Kitt albums, and pieces from the performers themselves, all given the trademark Kitt Wakeley treatment: beautiful arrangements, rich performances and recording, and unforgettable melodies.
To help launch the album, the Six String Symphony will be performing it live at some key venues. On October 4th, they will be playing at The Symphony Space in New York, NY which will be for The 52nd Street Project Scholarship Program.
