(IMM) Los Angeles genre-defiers Fishbone are kicking off their In Your Face Tour today, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album In Your Face.
The tour coincides with the April 10 release of the In Your Face / Cover Your Face 40th Anniversary Limited-Edition Double LP Reissue. The Spill Magazine says, "If In Your Face captures a band overflowing with potential on the cusp of finding their voice, then In Your Face / Cover Your Face - 40th Anniversary Reissue not only cements this but demonstrates the continuing influence and lasting importance of Fishbone."
In addition, limited-edition tour, independent retail, and special edition runs are also available. Each copy includes special collector inserts. Pre-save Cover Your Face here and pre-order the limited edition vinyl here.
Disc One features a newly remastered version of In Your Face (originally released in 1986). Disc Two, Cover Your Face, is a newly curated tribute album featuring artists from around the world reinterpreting songs from In Your Face.
The tribute album includes CD and digital-only contributions from Bite Me Bambi ("Cholly") and Open Mike Eagle ("Knock It"). Across vinyl, CD, and digital formats, additional tracks include: "When Problems Arise" (Twin Shadow), "A Selection" (Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy), "I Wish I Had a Date" (Catbite), "Movement in the Light" (Wheatus), "Give It Up" (The Ratchets), "In the Air" (Silversun Pickups), "Turn the Other Way" (Kimya Dawson), "Simon Says the Kingpin" (Doom Regulator featuring Tim Armstrong, Jesse Michaels, Joey Castillo & Spencer Pollard), and "Post Cold War Politics" (Dave Hill).
On tour, Fishbone will perform In Your Face in its entirety, a full-album live experience followed by a second set of career-spanning favorites. Tickets are available at Fishbone.
Fishbone-Angelo Moore (vocals, saxophone), Christopher Dowd (keyboards, trombone, vocals), James Jones (bass), Hassan Hurd (drums), John "JS" Williams II (trumpet, vocals), and Tracey "Spacey T" Singleton (guitar)-are also currently working on a new studio album slated for release this summer, with additional touring to follow.
