(DDPS) Prolific guitarist Tom 'The Suit' Forst and Beyond 1969 have shared a track by track from their new live in-studio, all-original album, BACK TO THE BLUES, which will be released on April 24th.
The ten-song recording features Blues/Rock Hall Of Fame inductee - songwriter, vocalist, guitarist Tom Forst (The Suit); award-winning vocalist, bassist, and songwriter, Tony Delisio; keyboardist extraordinaire, Jeff Bousfield; and premier percussionist, Bryan Caudle.
Back To The Blues, recorded at award-winning Horizon Music Group, is a modern Blues/Rock album in the tradition of Johnny Winter and Joe Bonamassa -- Indeed, the late Paul Nelson (Grammy winner/touring member of Johnny WInter's Band) produced a prior album, On Fire, with Tom. Forst's Beyond 1969 band members have shared the stage with The Marshall Tucker Band, George T. Gregory, Styx, The Edgar Winter Band, and The Rhinestones - just to name a few.
"Tony and I wrote these songs about passion - love, loss, lust, loneliness & laughter," reveals Forst. "Every lyric and note tells a story - one that all humans will relate to."
The Songs and the Stories
"Consolation Man" - many songs are written about men taking advantage of women. This one's different - a women abuses this man but he gladly comes when called.
"Comin' Back To The Blues" - a story about the importance of the blues in an artist's life - and the struggle to keep the blues alive, while, at the same time, moving the blues style to a modern world.
"Goin' Down" - a mystical journey that explores the desires of this world - looking backward from the time that we depart.
"I'm Never Gonna Leave You" - a controlling man telling his woman that she can leave him but it will be over her dead body.
"Feels So Good To Feel Bad" - sometimes we get into addictive relationships that may not be good for us but we stay because even the pain feels good.
"Darkest Before The Dawn" - love can hurt but just when you think you can't stand any more you see the light and know it's worth it.
"If I Stay With You Tonight" - the world is crumbling and you can feel helpless but it can go away, just for a short time, in the arms of someone you desire.
"It's My Own Damn Fault" - a story about a love triangle from the perspective of the man having an affair with a happily married woman.
"When It All Falls Down" - a look at the world through one man's eyes.
"I'm Not Over You Yet" - a person can go through their whole life without regrets - but it takes time to get over a lover.
