(PAA) Taylor Acorn has released Poster Child Deluxe today via Fearless Records, expanding on her 2025 album with new music that showcases both her pop-rock energy and her more vulnerable, introspective side.
Among the deluxe edition's highlights is focus track "Batteries," a tender acoustic ballad about mental exhaustion and the desperate need to disconnect when life becomes overwhelming. Opening with soft guitar and delicate vocals, the song gradually builds with subtle percussion and layered harmonies, allowing Acorn's powerful voice and emotional storytelling to take center stage. It's a quieter, deeply relatable moment that captures the feeling of wanting to shut everything off, even if just for a second.
"I wrote Batteries right after we had finished writing Poster Child and I immediately knew if we had an extension of the project, I wanted it to be on it", shares Acorn. "I think it perfectly describes how I and so many others feel right now -with the state of the world and the pressures of everyday life. I just think there's a lot of people out there that need to hear it and I'm really excited for it to finally come out!"
The expanded release also features previously shared singles "Growing Pains" and "Isn't It Strange" featuring Knox. While "Growing Pains" explores the realization that getting older doesn't necessarily mean having everything figured out, "Isn't It Strange" offers a brighter, more romantic take on the unexpected ways two people find each other. Both tracks have earned playlist support across rock, pop, and country, highlighting Acorn's genre-blending sound and ability to connect with listeners across musical styles.
Another standout is a beautiful acoustic rendition of "Crashing Out," which strips the song back to its emotional core, offering a fresh perspective on the original and further highlighting the strength and versatility of Acorn's vocals.
Originally released in 2025, Poster Child marked a major milestone in Acorn's career as her first album with Fearless Records, following nearly a decade of independently building her audience. Working alongside longtime collaborator and producer Dan Swank (All Time Low, Cassadee Pope) and songwriting partner Emma Lynn White, Acorn crafted a record rooted in the sounds that first inspired her, blending early 2000s pop-punk nostalgia with modern pop-rock production and deeply personal songwriting.
From the infectious energy of "People Pleaser" to the emotional vulnerability of "Hangman" and "Masquerade," Poster Child captured the many sides of an artist who has never been afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve. The deluxe edition builds on that foundation, giving listeners an even closer look at Acorn's evolution as a songwriter and performer.
This November, Acorn will bring the new music to the stage as she joins State Champs on their U.S. headline tour. Known for her powerhouse vocals, infectious energy, and emotionally charged performances, Acorn is ready to bring this next chapter of Poster Child to life for fans across the country.
